Julia Marie (Kennedy) Nelson, known well to most people as Julie, was born on Aug. 22, 1959, to Jampatagonia guide pants 70's2es and Janice (Buckmeier) Kennedy of Armstrong, Iowa. Julie graduated from Sentral High School of Fenton, Iowa, in 1977. She then moved to Mason City, Iowa, to get a degree from Hamilton Business College.
Julie met Gary while living and working in Mason City. They met at a dance club and were friends for years before starting to date. Then one night at a dance, Julie and Gary declared to each other they were meant to be together and a year later on Feb. 5, 1983, were joined in marriage at St. John s Catholic Church in Bancropatagonia down sweater washing instructionsft, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Lisa and Taylor.

Julie joined Gary as the Business Manager and took care of the books for the family farming operation. Gary and Julie worked well as a team in the family businesses for many years to follow.
