Jon started at Newswatch 16 as a reporter in June, 2003. His first job at WNEP was as the Luzerne County beat reporter. He then anchored the weekend evening newscasts for six years.
Jon has covered a wide range of stories for Newswatch 16. He went to Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010 with a group from central Pennsylvania, staying at an orphanage with 75 kids. He has also traveled with Penn State football for Newswatch 16 coverage of the Nittany Lions bowl trips to Florida and California.
Jon is no stranger to Pennsylvania. He came to WNEP from WJAC TV in Johnstown. There he served as weekend anchor and reporter. Jon was a key to WJAC coverage of the September 11, 2001 attack on America. United Airlines Flight 93 crashed only 20 miles from Johnstown in Somerset County. Jon was the first reporter at the crash site. He followed the story extensively for the weeks and months that followed. His accounts of the crash and his experiences covering it appear in several books about September 11 and its aftermath.

After high school, Jon went to Syracuse University and graduated with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and International Relations.
