It s been a dozen years since 3 year old Rosita Gonzalez suffered a bizarre and uncommon death by water intoxication.

And two women, separated and scarred by a case that has languished so long in the judicial system, invoke prayer.

Rosita s mother, Carmen Saldarriaga Pinedo, prays for someone to be held accountable. There is no justice, she said. I pray to God that I get justice.

There is no justice. It s been 12 years that I ve lived in frustration, Pinedo, of North Miami Beach, said in a telephone interview.

The allegation was so uncommon it took five months before Gayoso was charged.
