Increased police presence at Pittsburgh elementary schools
There was an increased police presence at several Pittsburgh Public elementary schools Thursday after threats were called into one of the schools this week.
Officers patrolled around West Liberty, South Brooke and Pioneer schools after those threats caused an evacuation Wednesday and modified lockdown Tuesday.
The district sent a message to parents via its notification system Wednesday morning that said, This is the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Again this message is to report that the District and 911 has NOT received any additional phone calls for West Liberty School as of7am.
